The Lani Kai Island Resort, a Fort Myers Beach landmark since 1978, has a fresh new reason to visit: its sixth-floor Island View Restaurant has been completely remodeled and reborn as the Island View Sports Bar. The three-month renovation turns one of the island’s best-view dining rooms into a family-friendly place to catch the game, with 33 big-screen televisions — including a 100-inch center screen — and every major sports package available.

What sets it apart is what’s outside the windows: panoramic views of the emerald Gulf from six stories up, the kind of scenery that earned the resort top honors for dining atmosphere in the Fort Myers Beach Observer’s Best of the Beach awards. The Conidaris family, which built and still operates the resort, added new flooring, booths, and an expanded bar featuring a frozen-mug draft system, plus a game room stocked with arcade classics like Galaga and Ms. Pac-Man. Signed jerseys from Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, and Shaquille O’Neal line the walls.

The timing is deliberate — just in time for football season, and another sign of Fort Myers Beach’s momentum: a building that weathered Hurricane Ian is now investing in something new for guests and locals alike.
