Suds & Sands Beerfest: Fort Myers Beach Nonprofits Team Up for Oct. 10 Fundraiser at Bay Oaks

Fort Myers Beach’s community groups are joining forces for a new fall fundraiser. On Saturday, October 10, the Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club will host the first Suds & Sands Beerfest at Bay Oaks — and the Fort Myers Beach Art Association is adding an artistic twist: six hand-painted tables will be auctioned off during the event.

Art Association members have spent the summer designing each table and will hand-paint them through September, using finishes built to hold up in the Florida sun. The tables will stay on display across the event grounds while the silent auction is live, with each artist’s work highlighted alongside their piece.

The collaboration is a full-circle partnership between two island nonprofits. The Art Association has been a past recipient of the Woman’s Club’s fundraising and is happy to give back — it will also run a booth at the event, raffling watercolor classes and original artwork, with a portion of the proceeds returning to the Woman’s Club.

Fundraisers like this are a reminder of what makes Fort Myers Beach special: neighbors and nonprofits lifting each other up as the island keeps coming back stronger. It’s a great excuse to gather at Bay Oaks, enjoy a cold one, and maybe take home a one-of-a-kind piece of island art.
