Ahoy, Fort Myers Beach — the 2026 Salty Sam’s Pirate Festival is taking over the island on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and it lands right on International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
The free, family-friendly celebration at Salty Sam’s Marina (2500 Main St., just before the Matanzas Pass Bridge) turns the waterfront into a pirate cove for the day. The Salty Sam’s Pirate Ship opens for games, treasure hunts and photo-worthy moments; craft vendors and live pirate music line the marina; and pirate characters roam the dock all afternoon. Parrot Key Caribbean Grill, Marina Cantina and Tin Tiki will serve special pirate menus, so it’s easy to make a full day of it.
Boaters get in on the fun, too — dock up at the marina and decorate your boat like a pirate ship.
It’s another sign of Fort Myers Beach’s comeback energy: free, family events that give locals and visitors a reason to gather on the water. Mark the calendar, find your best pirate voice and enjoy the day.
