A Welcome Return: Crescent Beach Family Park Reopens This Week

Four years after Hurricane Ian reshaped Fort Myers Beach, a beloved community space is back. Crescent Beach Family Park officially reopens to the public on Wednesday, July 29, at sunrise — the culmination of a $1.3 million restoration project that rebuilt and enhanced the beachfront park for residents and visitors alike.

The improvements are substantial. The park now features an ADA-compliant modular restroom facility with shade structures and utility connections, integrated bike racks, a dedicated picnic area, and a landscaped pedestrian path. Four beach access points — including one fully ADA-accessible route — make it easier than ever to reach the emerald-green Gulf waters and white quartz sand that define the Fort Myers Beach experience.

Lee County Commissioner David Mulicka called the reopening “a milestone of many more to come as our beach parks reopen with resilient amenities.” The project was funded through FEMA, Regional Park Impact Fees, and Tourist Development Taxes — a mix that reflects the community-wide investment in Fort Myers Beach’s ongoing recovery and growth.
