This Saturday, July 25, Fort Myers Beach is bringing back one of its most entertaining summer traditions — Mullet Madness. The daylong festival, organized by What’s Up FMB, combines an 80s-themed costume party, interactive business crawl, games, and live entertainment into a celebration that spans a dozen island businesses.
Participants start the crawl at License to Chill on the Margaritaville property between 10 and 11 a.m., then make their way to 12 participating locations — including Snug Harbor Waterfront Restaurant, Smokin’ Oyster Brewery, Wahoo Willie’s, Lah De Dah Beach Bar, Blue Parrot, and others. Each stop features its own unique game or challenge where players can earn points toward the title of Mullet Madness Crawl Champion.
Beyond the pub crawl, the festival includes a Best Mullet Contest (with divisions for men, women, and children — real mullets or costume wigs welcome), live music, prize drawings, and the legendary real fish mullet toss on the docks at Snug Harbor. An awards ceremony with raffles and prizes wraps things up at 4 p.m. at Cabana’s at Diamondhead Beach Resort.
Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children and include an official event T-shirt, credential, scorecard, stamp card, raffle ticket, and crawl map. Proceeds support local businesses and community programming on the island.
